Fun and educational, hands on, chemical free gardening camp for children. This is a 10 week camp, Friday mornings from 9am to 11am. June 15th through August 17th 2018
Bring your children to our homestead to learn all about growing their own food. Topics will include: growing seedlings, transplanting, direct sow, pruning, when to plant, when to harvest, plant identification, gardening tools & proper use, natural fertilizer, seed saving, and garden related crafts.
Children will get to see vegetables grow from start to finish, pick vegetables, learn how to cook with vegetables straight from the garden, and even bring some home to share with the family. They will also get some of their own plants to bring home and care for.
There are also a variety of fun animals to learn about. We raise chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, bees, quail, and a turkey named Tommy!
This is the kind of knowledge your children will keep and use for the rest of their lives! Class is for children ages 7 and older.
